ADA – East Central University volleyball senior Hayley Gerken has been named the ECU Female Athlete of the Week for Oct. 12 after a record-breaking performance over the weekend for the Tigers.

Gerken tallied a total of 10 block assists in the two weekend matches and added 15 kills, two service aces and five digs.  The Orange, Calif., native’s blocking numbers set the ECU career blocking records for both total blocks and block assists.  She now has 310 career total blocks and 265 career block assists.

Gerken is also now ranked No. 3 in the Great American Conference in career blocks.  She is also just six block solos from the top spot (51-Tatiana Booth) in the career block solos list and seven from setting the career service aces record (94-Danielle Essix).
