RUSSELLVILLE, ARK. – East Central University men's basketball senior Braxton Reeves has picked up his second Great American Conference Player of the Week honor for the 2016-17 season, as he earned the award for Jan. 30.

Reeves moved up to 14th in Division II in scoring after he averaged 33.5 points in victories against No. 18 Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas. He shot 52.2 percent from the 3-point arc and 54.5 percent from the floor. He helped the Tigers earn their first win against a ranked team in the program's NCAA era since the 2002 season. He played all 80 minutes in the two wins.

Reeves is the GAC All-Time Leading Scorer and ranked No. 8 in the ECU scoring charts, 1,410 points.  He was also named a Bevo Francis Top-100 Finalist earlier this month.

The Tigers will hit the road for its final full road weekend of the 2016-17 season, heading to Arkadelphia, Ark.  ECU will first battle with Ouachita, Thursday, Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and then Henderson State, Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3 p.m.
