ADA, OKLA.. – For the second-straight week, an East Central University soccer player has been named a Great American Conference Player of the Week, as sophomore
Alyssa Butler was named the Defender of the Week and junior
Chloe Hull was named the Goalkeeper of the Week.
The duo earned the honors after the Tigers (4-3-1, 1-0-1 GAC) drew a scoreless tie with defending GAC champions Southwestern Oklahoma State. ECU then picked up a 1-0 win against Northwestern Oklahoma State, placing the Tigers second in the league standings with Southwestern.
Hull earns the honor for the second-straight week for the Tigers after helping the team to two shutouts to open league action. The Moore, Okla., native has not allowed a goal for 200-consecutive minutes, dating back to Sept. 14. Hull stopped 11 shots against the Bulldogs and then added five saves against the Rangers.
Butler, was key ECU's shutout, by helping to limit the time of possession and shots on goal by the opposition. She helped the Tigers block 10 of Southwestern's shots and limit Northwestern to just five shots on goal.
