Michaela Lombardi joins the East Central cross country coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach after spending four seasons as a runner on the Tigers team.
Lombardi helped the Tigers to a Great American Conference Cross Country championship in 2016 and a runner-up title in 2017. She earned All-GAC First Team honors twice and was second team once in cross country.
In track & field she claimed two All-GAC First Team honors in 2018, placing third in the 5,000-meters and 10,000-meters. She added an All-GAC First Team honors in 2017 after claiming the 10,000-meters title.
She was a standout in the classroom as well, earning academic honors all four years.
Before joining the Tigers, she was a four-year member of the Clear Springs High school varsity team, where she helped the Chargers to four-straight regional qualifications, a third-place finish as district and two second-place district titles.
The Friendswood, Texas native earned a bachelor’s degree in pre-pharmacy in May 2018 from East Central.
