Tyler McGrew starts his second season on the sidelines at ECU.  McGrew was promoted to the Special Team Coordinator for 2013 and will also serve as the linebackers coach.  In his first season he filled the role of inside linebackers coach, after spending the last four seasons in a Tiger uniform.
 
The 2012 All-GAC Second Team pick and 2011 honorable mention finished his career with 257 tackles, 22.5 tackles-for-loss (79 yards), 7.5 sacks (48 yards), four interceptions, seven fumble recoveries (88 yards) and eight pass breakups.  On two of his seven fumble recoveries he recorded two touchdowns and threw for a touchdown on a fake field goal attempt.
 
McGrew was a key defensive player for the Tigers for four seasons, earning All-Lone Star Conference second team (2010) and honorable mention (2009) honors in his first two seasons.
 
The Broken Arrow, Okla., native earned a bachelor’s degree from ECU in kinesiology in May 2014 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration.
