Cady Byrnes returns to the Tigers coaching staff after a year away. During her prior stint at ECU, Byrnes was a graduate assistant coach for two seasons.
Byrnes spent the last year as the head coach for the Allen Junior High and High School fast and slow pitch teams. She helped the team finished second in their conference tournament, the highest finish in school history. She also coaches two first team all-conference selections and the conference freshman of the year.
The first time Brynes joined the Tigers was after a standout career at Ottawa University (Kansas). After her senior season, she earned Capital One Academic All-District 6 Team honors and her third All-Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference honor. She garnered a .346 batting average as a senior, with 45 hits in 130 at bats. She tallied 28 runs and 16 RBIs, while hitting three triples as an infielder.
The Tulsa, Okla., native earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Ottawa in May 2013 and a master’s degree in sports administration from East Central in May 2015.
