The Lady Tigers (6-13) were led by senior Danielle Essix.  Essix tallied her fifth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 24 digs.  Sophomore Hayley Gerken added nine kills.

The first set saw ECU fall behind 1-4.  The Lions (13-6) then held the Lady Tigers to no more than one point at a time for most of the set and went on to win 15-25.

The teams traded the first four serves before UAFS went on a 7-2 run to take control of the set for good.  The Loins didn't allow ECU to score more than two-straight points through the set and earned the 19-25 win.

The final set saw the Lady Tigers jump out to an 8-3 advantage and ECU used several small runs to gain a 16-9 lead.  However, UAFS was not done fighting, as they used a 6-0 run to cut the advantage to one, 16-15.  The teams traded the next six serves and it was again the Lions who used a 5-0 run to take the lead for good.  The Lady Tigers cut the lead to one through the final few points of the set, but fell 22-25.

ECU will return home and to Great American Conference action this weekend with matches against Arkansas-Monticello (Oct. 18/7 p.m.) and Southern Arkansas (Oct. 19/2 p.m.).
