Soccer Claims 4-1 Win Over Northwestern

Junior Milan Galloway tallied a goal and two assists against Northwestern.
Box Score ALVA, OKLA. – The East Central University soccer team won its third-straight match, with a 4-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State in the first of five-straight road matches.  The win moves the Lady Tigers to 4-8 overall and 4-1 in Great American Conference action.

ECU was led by junior Milan Galloway who scored a goal and added two assists.  Senior Ashley Bradford also garnered her fourth goal in the last three matches and the fifth of the season that was the game-winner for the Lady Tigers.

"It was a great team effort today," said head coach Riley Bailey.  "We came out strong and were able to put some goals away early.  That helped give us confidence to finish strong and I am very proud of the team's effort today."

ECU got on the scoreboard first at 19:06 in the first half.  Junior Kortney Holleman scored her fifth goal of the season from 10-yards out after the ball was served up by Bradford.

Bradford then added what would become the game-winner at 35:39 in the first half, with an assist from Galloway.

Just before the end of the half, the Rangers (1-13, 0-6 GAC) scored on their only shot on goal for the match at 42:44.

The Lady Tigers added two more goals in the middle of the second half from Galloway (72:15) and junior Katie Glutz (79:54).
ECU tallied 29 total shots, with 11 finding the net, while NWOSU tallied just five total shots, with one on goal.

The Lady Tigers will continue their road trip with a stop at No. 17 Southwestern Oklahoma State, Sunday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m.  The meeting will be the first between the two teams this season after the first scheduled meeting was postponed until Nov. 5 due to officiating scheduling conflicts.
