Box Score ADA – The East Central University volleyball team snapped a seven-match losing streak with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) win over Arkansas-Monticello in Great American Conference action at the Kerr Activities Center.

The Lady Tigers (7-13, 4-2 GAC) were led by senior
Noelle Cope, who tallied 11 kills, a .391 (11k-2e-23ta) hitting percentage and eight digs.
ECU jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the opening set and kept the pressure on the entire set, not letting the Cotton Blossoms (11-11, 2-5 GAC) score more than four-points in a row. The Lady Tigers went on to earn the 25-15 win.
The second set was a much closer battle with six tie scores and two lead changes. After UAM battled back from a three-point deficit to take a slight, 17-18 lead, but the Lady Tigers tied things up again at 18. The teams traded the next two serves before ECU went up 21-19. The next four servers were again traded for a 23-21 scores, and it was the Lady Tigers who rallied for the final two points and the 25-21 win.
The third set saw ECU jump out to an early 9-1 advantage and they kept the pressure on the rest of the set. The Lady Tigers didn't allow the Cotton Blossoms to score more than two-straight points in the set until late and earned a 25-17 win.
ECU had a strong offensive night, will all five starting hitters contributing at least five kills and a total of seven players earning one of the Lady Tiger's 46 kills for the day. ECU hit .26 7 (46k-15e-116ta) to a .065 (21k-15e-92ta) by the Cotton Blossoms.
ECU will continue its GAC play with a match against Southern Arkansas, Saturday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. at the Kerr Activities Center.
