The day also saw senior Caleb Holley set yet another ECU record.  The Anchorage, Alaska, native tallied 64 receiving yards in the game, setting the Tigers (5-5, 5-5 GAC) single season receiving yards record in the process with 970.  The old record was 930 set by Chris Barnes in 2001.  Holley also scored the first touchdown of the game for ECU, starting a 23-point come-back.

"It was a great win for our seniors," said head coach Tim McCarty.  "It was a great win to close out the season."

Sophomore Spencer Bond earned a rushing and passing touchdown in the game and finished with 216 yards and 14-of-27 passing.

Defensively ECU saw a touchdown by junior Daniel Holland. Holland returned a fumble for a 36-yard TD in the third quarter.  Holland finished the game with 4.5 total tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.  The Tigers also saw interceptions from junior Cole Weber and senior Ruben Tiller.

The Savage Storm (2-9, 2-8 GAC) scored the first nine points of the game, taking a 0-9 lead into the second quarter.

Holley got ECU on the scoreboard, with 10:24 remaining in the second quarter, with a nine-yard TD pass from Bond to cut the deficit to three (6-9).

Freshman Trevor Hunt tied the game at nine with a 28-yard field goal about five minutes later to send the teams to the locker room deadlocked.

Less than two minutes into the second half Holland sacked Southeastern's quarter back forcing a fumble that he recovered at the 36-yard line and returned for a touchdown.  That gave the Tigers their first lead of the game (16-9).

Bond added the game-winning points, with 7:06 left in the third quarter, on a one-yard TD run to put ECU up 23-16.

The Savage Storm scored half way through the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to 23-16, but ECU held Southeastern in the red zone on their next possession to force a turnover on downs on the nine-yard line with five seconds left on the clock.

Looking at the stat book, the Savage Storm earned advantages in the offensive categories, with 391 yards to 253 by ECU.  However, the Tigers earned the win because of defense.  Besides the fumble recovery TD, ECU recovered three fumbles and intercepted two passes.  The Tigers held strong on their side, being forced into two fumbles, but recovering both and throwing one interception.
