Lady Tigers Drop 60-73 Decision at Midwestern State

Senior Erin Walling tallied a season-best 13 points at Midwestern State.
Box Score WICHTA FALLS, TEXAS – The East Central University women's basketball team fell to Midwestern State, 60-73, in non-conference action.

The Lady Tigers (5-4) were paced by junior Dilan Webster, with 14 points and three rebounds.  Junior Erin Walling added a season-best 13 points, while senior Ashley Robison tallied 12 points.

The Mustangs (6-3) opened the game with a 2-4 advantage.  ECU quickly responded and used a 7-0 run over the next two minutes to take a 9-4 lead.  The advantage was short lived, as the game was tied at 10, with 14:10 left to play.

The teams battled through the next few minutes and after a tie at 13 (10:53 remaining), MSU went on an 18-2 run to take control of the half.  The run gave the Mustangs a 15-29 lead, with just over three minutes left.  The Lady Tigers finished the half with a 5-3 run and went into the locker room trailing 20-32.

MSU kept the advantage between 11-17 points for most of the second stanza, but the Lady Tigers kept fighting and dropped the lead to six, with 12:59 left to play.  ECU used a 9-4 run over a two-minute span to get within six (39-45), but the Mustangs countered with a 10-0 run to push the lead back to double-digits.

MSU earned a 28-36 rebounding advantage and shot 51 percent (26-of-51) from the field, while the Lady Tigers were held to a 38.9 percent (21-of-54) mark.

The Lady Tigers will return home for their final home game of 2013, Tuesday, Dec. 17 when they host Mid-America Christian at the Kerr Activities Center at 7 p.m.
