DURANT, OKLA. – The East Central University volleyball team dropped a four-set decision to Southeastern Oklahoma State 1-3 (18-25, 25-23, 15-25, 8-25) in Great American Conference action at Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

Madison Seiler recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 31 assists and 13 digs.
The first set saw the Savage Storm (15-11, 8-3 GAC) open with a 3-0 run for the early advantage. The Tigers fought back and cut the disadvantage to one (3-4) and then kept pushing to tie the set at nine. However, that is when SEOSU took control, using a 9-1 run to increase their advantage to nine (10-19). The Savage Storm kept the momentum on their side as they went on to win 18-25.
The second set was a closer battle that resulted in a win for the Tigers. SEOSU started the set out with a 4-0 run, but saw ECU cut into the deficit with several short runs to get within two (5-7). However, the Savage Storm pushed back with a 3-0 run to increase its lead to five (5-10). The Tigers kept the disadvantage within two to four points for most of the set until they used a 3-0 run to get cut the score to 18-19.
The teams then traded serves until the score was knotted at 21 with a 2-0 ECU run. The Tigers kept pushing and used a 4-2 run to earn the 25-23 win.
The third set started out close with the teams trading the first 10 serves before SEOSU used a 2-0 run to take a 5-7 lead. The teams again traded serves before a 4-0 run by the Savage Storm pushed the advantage to five (7-12). That was all that they would need as SEOSU kept fighting and earned a 15-25 win.
The teams traded the first four serves before Southeastern went on an 8-1 run to take control of the set (3-10). SEOSU kept the pressure up the entire set on its way to an 8-25 win.
The Tigers will return home for the final matches of the 2014 regular-season at the Kerr Activities Center, Saturday, Nov. 1. ECU will first host Henderson State at 2 p.m. and then battle with Dallas Baptist at 6 p.m.
