The East Central University volleyball team will wrap up the 2014 season over the next week, with a total of three matches. The Tigers will first host both Henderson State (2 p.m.) and Dallas Baptist (6 p.m.), Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Kerr Activities Center. ECU will then finish the season on the road at Mid-America Christian, Friday, Nov. 6 (7:30 p.m.).

Scouting Henderson StateThe Reddies are 4-23 overall and 0-12 in the Great American Conference after fighting through two five-set losses last weekend. HSU will have a chance to improve its overall record when they face Christian Brothers Thursday.
The Reddies are trailing their opponents in all of the stat columns on the season box score, but their biggest disadvantage is in hitting percentage with a .127 to .229 mark.
Jessica Moss and Nayeli Colunga are the offensive leaders for HSU, with over 225 kills each. Moss leads the team with 342 kills, a .236 (342k-154e-796ta) hitting percentage, 21 service aces and 76 (25-51) blocks. Colunga adds 228 kills, 19 service aces and 221 digs.
Against the ReddiesEarlier this season the Tigers and HSU played a non-conference match in Arkadelphia, with ECU coming home with a 3-0 win. Junior
Sarah Simpson led the Tigers with 16 kills and a .353 (16k-4e-344ta) attack percentage, two service aces and 16 digs. Redshirt freshman
Chelsea Stevens added 10 kills and a .500 (10k-2e-16ta) hitting percentage.
Jessica Moss was the leader for the Reddies, with 10 kills, four blocks (2-2) and a .259 (10k-3e-27ta) hitting percentage.
The SeriesAfter being victorious in the last six matches, the Tigers hold a 7-1 record in the all-time series, including a 4-0 mark when playing as conference opponents. The teams have faced each other just twice so far in Ada, with ECU holding a 2-0 lead.
Scouting Dallas BaptistThe Patriots are 9-14 overall and 6-7 in the Heartland Conference and will face St. Edward's at home Thursday in league play before coming to Ada Saturday.
DBU is close to its opponents in most statistical columns, but they trail the opposition. The biggest disadvantage is in hitting percentage at .192 to .207.
The key threat from the Patriots is Tiara Gipson. Gipson has 303 kills, a .338 (303k-84e-648ta) hitting percentage, 22 service aces, 66 digs and 74 (10-64) blocks. The next highest total of kills on the team is 179.
The SeriesThe teams have faced each other just twice in the past, with the last meeting Sept. 9, 2011 on a neutral court that resulted in a 2-3 loss for ECU. Saturday's meeting will be the first at the Kerr Activities Center, with the other meeting in the series being a loss on the road.
Scouting Mid-America ChristianThe Evangels are 3-23 overall and 1-12 in the Sooner Athletic Conference as part of the NAIA system. MACU will have two chances to improve their record before hosting the Tigers next Friday. The Evangels have clear deficits on the season box score in all categories, with the biggest differences coming in hitting percentage (.065 to .248) and service aces (98 to 165).
Shannon Niemeier is the leader for the Evangels with 209 kills, a .187 (209k-88e-648ta) hitting percentage, six service aces, 69 digs and 19 (17-8) blocks.
Against the EvangelsThe Tigers claimed a 3-0 win in the last meeting with MACU during the 2013 season at home. Junior
Hayley Gerken led ECU in the match with seven kills and a .385 (7k-2e-13ta) hitting percentage. Junior

Kahdejah Henry is the lone returner to see action in the last match-up with ECU, garnering four kills.
The SeriesThe Tigers hold a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series, with the lone loss having come on the road Sept. 15, 2011 (2-3). ECU won the last meeting in Ada (Sept. 14, 2013) 3-0.

Chelsea Stevens has had a few strong performances for the Tigers. In the last two matches she has tallied 14 kills, six digs and six blocks assists.
Mackenzie Making a MoveFreshman
Mackenzie Davis had a strong week for the Tigers (Sept. 23-27). Davis tallied 25 kills and a team-high .364 (25k-5e-55ta) hitting percentage. She also added a team-best eight (1-7) blocks and three service aces in three matches.
Gerken's Golden MomentJunior
Hayley Gerken has a standout performance for ECU in the 3-2 win over St. Gregory's (9/20/14). Gerken hit .812 (13k-0e-16ta), which would have been a school record for hitting percentage in a match had she gotten four more attempts. She also added a dig and four (1-3) blocks.
That's a Kill for GillFreshman
Madyson Gill has become a strong force for ECU early in the season, with three double-doubles at the South Central Classic. She totaled 63 kills, five service aces, 62 digs and eight (3-5) blocks in the six matches. She now has a total of seven double-doubles on the season.
