The Tigers (8-1, 4-0 GAC) were in a giving mood, as 11 of the 12 players in the game scored at least one point, 10-of-12 recorded a rebound and half earned an assist and steal.  Senior Dilan Webster, who was recognized before the start of the game as the 13th member of the 1,000 Point Club at ECU, led the team with her first double-double of the year.  Webster tallied 16 points and 10 boards, with one assist and two blocks.

Senior Erin Walling added 14 points and six assists and senior Taylor Fisher garnered 11 points and five assists, while sophomore Jalyn Jackson led the team with 10 rebounds.
The opening minutes of the game were a close battle that led to a five-all tie, with 17 minutes left to play.  That is when the Tigers took control of the game, with a 9-0 run over the next three minutes (14-5).  The Cavaliers (1-10) countered with an 8-0 run to get within one (14-13), but that was as close as they would get the rest of the game.

ECU pushed back with another 9-0 run and despite a 12-2 SGU run late in the half, went into the locker room with a 29-25 advantage.

The second half started out much like the first until a 7-0 run by ECU pushed the lead out to double-digits (45-34), with 12 minutes left to play.  The Tigers kept up the pressure and increased the lead to 16 (54-38) with seven minutes left on the clock.  The Cavaliers kept fighting, but could not get the deficit below 11 the rest of the game and fell 65-51.

The key difference in the game was on the glass, where ECU earned a 52-31 advantage.  The Tigers also took advantage of their 22 offense rebounds, scoring 18 second-chance points to four by SGU.

ECU will now have a few weeks off before returning to the court, Wednesday, Dec. 31 on the road at Central Oklahoma for a 1 p.m. tip.

Notes:  This is the first time that ECU has had eight wins in the first part of the season since they went 8-2 in 2012-13.
