Box Score

The Tigers (12-7, 9-4 GAC) were led by senior Henry Pwono, who tallied 24 points and six rebounds.  Redshirt freshman A.J. Moutry added 14 points and two boards.

"I'm really proud of our guys and their toughness and determination in a hostile environment," said head coach Ja Havens.  "We did a great job defensively in the second half, and that was the difference in the game.  Henry Pwono gave us a big lift offensively and Shaq Burrell did a great job of bringing energy on the defensive end."

Ouachita (7-12, 4-9 GAC) took an early lead and kept the advantage between two to six points for the first 10 minutes of the game.  OBU then added to their lead, with a 9-0 run over a two-minute span to lead 19-30.  The teams traded runs over the final minutes of the half, until a late 5-0 run by OBU gave them a 34-45 lead at the half.

The second half was a close battle, with OBU leading by 10 (41-51), with 14:50 left to play.  That is when ECU kicked things into high gear and used a 19-3 run over the next 10 minute to take a 60-54 lead.  ECU held OBU without a field goal during the span, but saw the advantage drop to two over the next minute.

ECU then used a 7-0 run over the next two minutes to build its lead to nine (67-58).  The teams traded points over the next minute, with ECU holding on for the 73-62 win.

Both teams were close in overall shooting percentages (40.4/39.2), but ECU earned a kept 40.0 to 25.0 lead in three-point shooting.  ECU also made the most of their trips to the free throw line, going 25-of-36 and holding OBU to a 17-of-21 mark.

The Tigers will return home for the first of two games at the Kerr Activities Center, Thursday, Feb. 6 when they host Southern Arkansas at 7:30 p.m.  The game is the annual PinkOut game.
