Taylor Lowe earned the first start in net for ECU, allowing four goals and recording five saves.
"This was a tough start for us," said head coach
Riley Bailey. "It was good for us to play the quality of the MIAA and it will only help prepare us for conference play. We will regroup one and prepare for another tough match Sunday."
The Hornets (1-0) opened the scoring with a goal in the first half, with 12:24 remaining to play. ESU then added three goals in the second half for the 0-4 final.
The Lady Tigers will return to the pitch, Sunday, Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. when they face Missouri Western State.
