SEARCY, ARK. – The East Central University football team fell 20-62 to Harding on the road in Great American Conference action at First Security Stadium.
The Tigers (5-3, 5-3 GAC) struggled with consistency in the game, recording just 278 yards passing and 97 rushing and allowing 557 yards rushing by the Bisons (6-2, 6-2 GAC).

On the defensive side, senior
Jameel Whitney set the ECU Career Tackle record, with his six (3-3) tackles in the game. His record now stands at 284, breaking the old record of 278 set by Norris Wrenn (2010-12).

Noble Lybrand were close behind with five tackles each.
Harding was the first to score, taking a 0-6 lead at 6:24 in the first quarter on a touchdown, but a missed extra point.
That allowed the Tigers to take a short 7-6 lead when
Rocky Moore and
Dezmon Jackson connected on a 12-yard pass with 1:57 left in the quarter.
The lead was short-lived, as the Bisons scored just over a minute later to regain the lead, 7-13.
Harding kept pushing and added three more TDs in the second quarter for a 7-34 advantage with 5:14 left in the half.
ECU cut into the deficit just before the end of the half, with a five-yard passing TD to Case with 30 seconds left (14-34).
The Bisons came out strong in the second half scoring three more TDs before ECU got on the board again. This time
Rocky Moore and
David Moore connected for a three-yard pass and a 20-55 score.
Harding added one more touchdown in the final minutes of the game for the 20-62 final.
The Tigers will look to rebound next Saturday when they welcome Arkansas-Monticello to Norris Field at Koi Ishto Stadium for the annual Homecoming Game. The game is also Senior Day and will feature a reunion of the 1965 Oklahoma Intercollegiate Conference Championship team.
Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., with the senior day festivities on the schedule prior to the game. Homecoming will also feature a soccer match at 11 a.m. at Tiger Field.
