ADA- The East Central University soccer team fell 0-2 to Ouachita Baptist in Great American Conference action at Tiger Field.
Photo GalleryThe Tigers (4-12, 3-7 GAC) held a strong defensive upper hand the majority of the match. ECU blocked 10 of OBU's 36 shots, while OBU blocked two of ECU's 13 shots. Ouachita (11-6, 10-2 GAC) fought back and ended the match with 36 shots and 14 shots on goal.
Freshman
Chloe Hull recorded 12 saves, while senior
Megan Lantrip led the offensive charge with five shots (one on goal).
The teams were held to 0-0 through to the first half of action and the first goal didn't come until the 83
rd minute.
Ouachita was the first to strike, scoring at 82:16 mark and 83:14 for the 0-2 win.
The Tigers will next face Harding, Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at Tiger Field. The match is part of the 2015 Homecoming festivities and will also be ECU's annual Senior Day.
The Tigers will honor six seniors to kick off the match. ECU will bid farewell to
Kaitie Herrin,
Krista Kahl,
Megan Lantrip,
Taylor Lowe,
Hunter Malcolm and
Kelsey Pickrell.
The make-up match with Oklahoma Baptist, set for Monday, Nov. 2 that was an as necessary match has also been changed so that the teams will play regardless if it will affect the GAC standings.
