DURANT, OKLA. – The East Central University football team ended the season with a 27-37 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State at Paul Laird Field.

The Tigers (6-5) were led by junior David Moore, who was named the ECU Landmark Bank Player of the Game.  Moore garnered 123 receiving yards and a touchdown.  Senior Juwan Dotson also had a strong game for ECU with 112 receiving yards and a TD.  Senior Jamal Hall was the top rusher for the Tigers, netting 73 yards and a TD.  Senior Rocky Moore went 28-of-47 for 402 yards.

Defensively the Tigers were led by senior Jameel Whitney with 12 tackles (7-5).  Fellow senior Karmah Yates added five tackles (2-3) and a sack for six yards.

ECU took an early 7-0 lead, converting on their first possession of the game.  Seniors Rocky Moore and Juwan Dotson connected on a 27-yard pass that ended a 12-play; 86 yard drive, with 9:26 left in the first quarter.

The Tigers then went back to the play book and used a fake field goal attempt that allowed senior Spencer Bond to get a seven-yard passing touchdown to freshman Tre Harvey, with 13:33 left in the second.  The fake play put ECU up 14-0.

The Savage Storm (6-5) were not going to go quietly though, as they scored two touchdowns during the second quarter to even the game at 14.  SE then added a 35-yard field goal as the half ended to go into the intermission lead 14-17.

The Savage Storm carried their momentum into the start of the second half, scoring a touchdown just three minutes into the third quarter for a 14-24 lead.

The Tigers cut into the disadvantage to 21-24 with 3:52 left in the third quarter when Jamal Hall rushed in from a yard out for a TD.

Just after the start of the fourth quarter, SE pushed the lead back to six with a 25-yard field goal (21-27).  The Savage Storm continued to push the tempo and added another field goal and a touchdown before ECU got on the scoreboard again.

The Tigers got one more touchdown for the season between Rocky Moore and junior David Moore, with a 15-yarder with 1:20 left to play.  However, the extra point failed to leave the score 27-37.  With the touchdown, David Moore set the single season receiving touchdown record for ECU at 13.
