WEATHERFORD, OKLA. – The East Central University baseball team started the Great American Conference season on the right track, earning a series sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State with 10-8 and 8-0 wins in a double-header at SWOSU Baseball Field.
The Tigers (7-3, 3-0 GAC) were paced by senior
Bryce McKee, who hit .444 for the day, with three doubles and a home run.

Michael Andrade and senior
Cam McKay earned the victories. Andrade threw one inning during game one to pick up the win, allowing one hit and striking out one. McKay threw a complete-game shutout in game two, allowed just three hits and earning three K's.
The Tigers will now get ready for a non-conference road game at Central Oklahoma, Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.
Game 1 – ECU 10, SWOSU 8The Bulldogs were the first to score putting two runs up in the bottom of the first inning. However, ECU responded with two runs in the top of the third on a double from senior
Dustin Torres.
The Tigers added two more runs in the fifth inning on a double from senior
Gavin Susca and a single by Torres. SWOSU took their turn to tie the game in the bottom of the same inning, scoring two for a four-all tie.
After a scoreless sixth, ECU shot back out on top, scoring five runs after doubles from Mckee and senior
Ty Huie and a single from senior
Garrett Donohoe. The Tigers added a 10
th run in the eighth on singles from seniors
Luc Pomales and
Nick Spini.
The Bulldogs made a good run at tying the game in the bottom of the ninth inning, earning four runs to cut the deficit to 10-8. However, the Tigers defense held strong for the win.
Game 2 – ECU 8, SWOSU 0The Tigers were the first to get on the scoreboard in the top of the second. After a leadoff double from McKee, ECU scored a run on an error and a walk for a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers added two more runs in the fourth when senior
Ariel Adut hit a two-run home run to left center.
The scoring continued in the top of the fifth with two more runs for ECU on doubles from Spini and senior
Cale Russell and a single from Donohoe.
Adut was hit by a pitch in the sixth and after a sacrifice bunt by senior
Eric Swann, scored on a wild pitch for a 7-0 lead. The Tigers added a final run in the seventh on a solo home run by McKee to left center.
