The Tigers (15-8, 11-6 GAC) were led senior Erin Walling, as one of four players that recorded double-digits in the points column.  Walling tallied 17 points and eight assists, while senior Taylor Fischer garnered 13 points, senior Janee Garza 11 and senior Dilan Webster 10 points.  Freshman Kendal Rogers added a career-best 15 rebounds.

"I am very happy for our team tonight getting the big win," said head coach Matt Cole.  "Arkansas Tech has an outstanding team and our team responded to the challenge."

The opening minutes of the game were tight, with no team leading by more than four points for the first nine minutes.  At 11:31, the teams were knotted at 11 and ECU then pulled away with a 15-9 run over the next seven minutes.  The Tigers kept pushing the tempo of the game and ended the half leading 33-23.

The Golden Suns (19-4, 14-3 GAC) came out fighting in the second half and after trading baskets over the first five minutes, ATU used a 9-1 run until the middle of the stanza to cut the deficit to two (40-38).  The Golden Suns kept the game close for the next three minutes before ECU went on a 9-2 run over a four-minute span to take control for good.

The Tigers kept the pressure up and ended up pushing through for the 66-56 victory.

ECU had a strong night shooting, hitting 40.8 (20-of-49) percent of their total shots and holding ATU to a 37.9 (22-of-58) mark.  The Tigers also took advantage of 21 of their 31 trips to the charity stripe, while only allowing the Golden Suns 15 attempts (nine made).

ECU will have another big test, Saturday, Feb. 21 when they welcome Harding to the Kerr Activities Center.  The Bison may have fallen out of the latest polls, but they are still receiving votes and are tied with ATU for first in the GAC standings after tonight's games.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
