The Tigers (12-10) were led by senior Dustin Torres, with three hits and three runs scored, while fellow senior Garrett Donohoe added three hits and three RBIs.

Senior Oscar Gomez threw the first four innings, earning the win to move to 3-0 on the year.  He allowed three hits, but no runs and struck out four.

ECU was the first to get on scoreboard, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.  Torres started the inning with a single up the middle and then stole second.  He was then sent to third on a fly out to center by senior Nick Spini.  That set up Donohoe for an RBI with a single to left field.

The Tigers added another run in the bottom of the fourth on doubles from Spini and Donohoe for a 2-0 advantage.

ECU kept pushing the lead out farther with three runs in the fifth inning.  Torres started this with a single up the middle and was sent home when senior Ty Huie hit his first home run of the season to left center.  Spini kept things alive with a single to first and was sent home when senior Bryce McKee hit a ball off the wall in right for a triple.

The Cavaliers (6-22) made a push in the top of the sixth inning loading the bases with one out, but the ECU defense held strong and got a shallow pop-up out to left and a strikeout to end the threat.

The Tigers added another run in the bottom of the seventh on a single from Torres and a double from Donohoe to take a 6-0 lead.

SGU did not go home quietly and were able to plate one run in the top of the ninth, but the Tigers held on for the 6-1 win.

ECU will now get ready for a three-game non-conference series against Arlington Baptist, March 27-28 at Ken Turner Field.  Friday's single game is set to start at 1 p.m., with a double-header set for Saturday at 1 p.m.
