OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. – The East Central University baseball team split a non-conference series with Oklahoma City, No.4 in the NAIA rankings.  The Tigers fell 4-5 in game one and then took game two 2-1.

The Tigers (20-15) were led by senior Dustin Torres, who tallied a .600 batting average, three hits, two runs and one RBI.  Senior Michael Andrade earned the win on the mound in the second game, throwing two innings and allowed three hits.  Senior Jake Wellington threw the first five innings of the opening game, striking out four.

ECU will now head to Southern Arkansas, April 17-18 for a three-game Great American Conference series.  A single game is scheduled for Friday, April 17 at 7 p.m. and a double-header is set for Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m.

Game 2 – ECU 2, OCU 1
The second game of the day was a pitcher's duel with no scoring and just one hit for each team through the first four innings.

The Stars (31-10) were then able to put two hits together in the bottom of the fifth to take a 0-1 advantage.

ECU then took a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth.  After the first out, Torres was walked and sent to second on a wild pitch.  Senior Ariel Adut then hit a fly ball to center, but Torres was able to get to third.  Spini was intentionally walked to put runners on the corners. 

The first run was then scored when senior Garrett Donohoe doubled to left center.  The second run was scored after senior Bryce McKee was hit by a pitch to load the bases and senior David Terrazas drew a walk to score a run.

The score remained 2-1 through the top of the seventh, allowing OC to try for a come-back attempt.  While the Stars loaded the bases, the Tigers defense was able to hold strong and earn the win.

Game 1 – OC 5, ECU 4
The Tigers took an early lead with a run in the first, third and sixth innings for a 3-0 advantage.  The runs were scored due to three walks, five singles and a sacrifice bunt.

The Stars then got to work in the bottom of the sixth, scoring four runs for a 3-4 lead.

The Tigers tied the game at four in the top of the seventh.  Senior Bryce McKee reached due to an error and was sent to second on a sacrifice bunt and third on a balk.  That allowed sophomore Trevor Huie to earn an RBI with a single up the middle.

ECU tried to force extra innings, but OC was able to load the bases and score a run in the bottom of the seventh for the win.
