ST. JOSEPH, MO. – The East Central University soccer team dropped a 0-3 decision to Emporia State in the final match of the GAC/MIAA Challenge.
The Tigers (0-2) struggled to find the shots they need, recording just three shot on goal for the game to 13 by the Hornets. Freshman
Chloe Hull tallied 10 saves in goal, while senior
Kelsey Pickrell and
Taylor Kennedy and junior
Kylee Harper all tallied a shot on goal.
The match remained scoreless until 39:27 when ESU scored their first goal on a penalty kick. The Hornets added two more goals during the second half for the 0-3 final.
The Tigers will now get ready for their next match, Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Newman. The match starts at 6 p.m. and will cap off a three-match road trip before ECU opens the 2015 season at home, Friday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. against Northeastern State.
