Soccer Set For Final Home Match of 2016 Season

ADA – The East Central University soccer team will start the week with its final home match of the 2016 season, hosting Southern Nazarene, Thursday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. at Tiger Field.  The Tigers will end the week at Oklahoma Baptist, Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m.

ECU is coming off a 1-1 week, including a 1-0 shutout win over Northwestern on Senior Day.  Junior Deanna Rudasill scored both goals for the Tigers for the week and has scored a goal in each of the last three matches, including two match-winning goals.

Senior Lexi Hurley picked up her second win of the season and her first career shutout in the 1-0 win over Northwestern.

Southern Nazarene is currently 4-10 overall and 3-5 in the Great American Conference and will face Oklahoma Baptist, Tuesday, Oct. 18.  The Crimson Storm have a 12-29 goal differential, but are closer in shots on goal with 97 to 102 with their opponents.

SNU has three players that have tallied more than one goal, with Meagan Chase leading the team with five.  Hannah Robinson adds four goals and one assist, while Kelsi Bussert has tallied two goals.

Natasha Fuentes has played in 13 matches and started 12 in net for the Crimson Storm.  She has allowed 27 goals and stopped 67 shots, with a .713 save percentage.

OBU is 8-4 and 5-3 in the league before their match with SNU Tuesday.  Despite the lead in matches won, the Bison have just a 20-17 lead in goals scored and 96-82 difference in shots on goal.

Ruth King leads the team with seven goals, while adding two assists and a team-leading 23 shots on goal.  Abigail Hicks adds five goals and three assists.

Emma Beck has played most of the time in net, with 16 goals allowed and 64 saves.  She has a .800 save percentage and has recorded two shutouts.

The Tigers have faced SNU on 14 previous occasions, holding a 4-9-1 overall record and a 3-6 mark when playing as GAC opponents.  However, ECU has an even record (3-3) when playing at home.

The series with OBU is knotted at two matches each, with the Tigers holding a 0-2 mark when playing on the road.
