MONTICELLO, ARK. – The East Central University fell 21-42 to Arkansas-Monticello in Great American Conference action.
The Tigers (1-8 GAC) saw touchdowns from three different players, with redshirt freshman
Tyson Jones netting his first career score, sophomore
Tre Harvey his third of the season and sophomore
Tre'von Jackson his second of the year.
Tre'von Jackson ended the game with 117 yards, his first 100-yard rushing game of the year and the second of his career. Jones added 37 yards and senior
Brooks Holder nine for 163 yards rushing for ECU in the game.
Harvey led the receivers group with 80 yards on just one catch, while junior
Dezmon Jackson added 59 yards on six catches. Holder went 16-of-39 passing for 219 yards.

Camnik Campbell added to his team-high tackle record, with 12 (8-4) total tackles. With two games left in the season he is just 16 tackles from resetting the single season tackle record of 113. Campbell has 98 total tackles in 2016 and has averaged over 10 per outing.
The Boll Weevils (4-5 GAC) started the scoring with 13:57 left in the first quarter, getting a 42-yard passing TD to lead 0-7.
The Tigers responded less than three minutes later, getting a quick touchdown that took just two plays and went 80 yards for a seven-all tie. After a rush for no gain on the first play of the drive, Holder connected on an 80-yard pass with Harvey.
UAM regained the lead, with 6:36 left in the quarter, and then added another score, with 14:11 left in the second quarter, to end the half with ECU trailing 7-21.
The Tigers were the first to score in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 14-21, with 11:57 left. This time the drive took just one play to complete, as Holder handed the ball off to Jackson who rushed 85 yards for the TD.
The Boll Weevils kept pushing and increased the lead to 14-28 with 7:50 left in the third quarter.
ECU responded five minutes later to cut the deficit back to seven (21-28). Jones finished off a 10-play; 67-yard drive with a four-yard rushing touchdown.
UAM was not done scoring, but held the Tigers scoreless the rest of the game. The Boll Weevils added a TD with 16 seconds left in the third quarter and then a final touchdown with 5:16 left in the fourth quarter for the 21-42 final.
The Tigers will not get to end the season at Koi Ishto Stadium, with the final two games set to be played on Norris Field. ECU will first host Southern Arkansas, Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. for the annual Chickasaw Appreciation Day. Those with a Chickasaw Nation Citizenship Card or Employment Badge will receive free admission for the entire family.
