ST. LOUIS, MO. – The East Central University men's basketball team picked up its second-straight victory, with an 82-68 win over Maryville in the final day of the Marriott St. Louis Airport Classic hosted by Missouri St. Louis.

The Tigers (2-4, 0-2 GAC) had four seniors record double-digit point totals, with Braxton Reeves leading the group with 18.  Ishmael Donzo added 17 points, Donovan Halsel 16 and KD Moore 14.  Donzo was the top rebounder in the game, with six, while Reeves added four boards, four assists and two steals.

The scoring started almost immediately, as Halsel hit a triple just 16 seconds into the game to give ECU the lead.  The Tigers built the lead to six (12-6) in the first three minutes, but saw the Saints (2-6) fight back with a 6-0 run to tie the game at 12, with 15:29 left in the half.

ECU countered with a 10-2 run over the next three minutes to regain the lead.  The Tigers built the lead to as many as 22 through the half and went into the locker room with a 30-50 advantage.

Maryville started out strong in the second, going on a 14-4 run in the first three minutes to cut the disadvantage to 10 (54-44).  Both teams then stepped up the defense with no scoring for the next three minutes.

Once buckets finally started hitting again, the Tigers kept the lead around 10 points for the remainder of the game and ended with an 82-68 victory.

ECU has another strong shooting game, making 53.8 (28-of-52) percent of its overall shots, 53.8 (7-of-13) percent from beyond the arc and 73.1 (19-of-26) from the charity stripe.  The Saints shot 48.2 (27-of-56) from the floor, 33.3 (6-of-18) percent from three-point range and 80 (8-of-10) from the free-throw line.

The Tigers will take their winning streak home and play the first games of the season at the Kerr Activities Center, Dec. 1-3.  ECU will host Henderson State, Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Ouachita Baptist, Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. on Wayne Cobb Court.
