The Tigers started out on a strong note in game one, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning.  After the first out, Suydam singled to center and was sent to second on a groundout by freshman Madison Thompson and then to third due to a wild pitch.  Senior Jordynn VanPelt was then walked to put runners on the corners and junior Sydney Dow earned the RBI with a single to right field.

Both teams kept the score a 1-0 for the next three innings, but again ECU was the team to break through, scoring four runs in the fifth for a 5-0 lead.

Senior Taylor Davis hit a one-out single and went to second on an error.  Suydam added a single and stole second to put runners at second and third.  After the second out, VanPelt hit a double to score the first two runs.  Dow was walked and due to stolen bases by both runners, they ended up on second and third.  That allowed senior Lauren Reeves to earn two RBIs with a single to right field.

While it looked like the Tigers would get another shutout, the Reddies (11-14, 2-11 GAC) were able get two runs across the plate in the sixth inning on three hits for a 5-2 final.
