ADA – The East Central University baseball team dropped two games to Southern Arkansas on Senior Day at Ken Turner Field. The Tigers (14-26, 13-16 GAC) first fell 3-10 and then dropped a 4-20 game.

ECU was led by junior
Kaleb Matthews, who hit .571 for the day with four hits, one run and three RBIs. Matthews was one of five players for the Tigers to hit home runs for the day. Junior
Kodiak O'Ravez added a .333 average, three hits and one run.
The teams will wrap up the three-game series with the Muleriders (27-16, 17-12 GAC), Sunday, April 24 at 1 p.m. at Ken Turner Field.
Southern Arkansas 10, East Central 3
The Muleriders came out swinging and took an early lead, with four runs in the first inning. SAU added two runs in the second, three in the fifth and one in the sixth for a 0-10 lead.
The Tigers got their first run of the game in the seventh, with a solo home run from junior
Trey Mound. Junior
Jake MeKeel added a home run in the eighth and junior
Kristian De La Toree finished the scoring with a home run in the ninth, for the 3-10 final.
Southern Arkansas 20, East Central 4
ECU was the first to strike in the second game, taking a quick 1-0 lead after the first. After the first out, senior
Kris Molter singled to right and was sent to second on the next out. That allowed the run to score when Matthews hit a single.
However, the Muleriders took the lead in the third inning, with 13 runs.
The Tigers got two of the runs back in the bottom of the inning on solo home runs from Molter and Matthews for a 3-13 score.
SAU added to the lead with two runs in the fourth and a run in the sixth (3-16).
ECU scored their final run of the day in the bottom of the sixth. O'Ravez started the inning with a single, Molter was added to the base path due to an error and MeKeel when he was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Matthews earned the RBI when he grounded out to first for the 4-16 score.
The Muleriders were not done scoring, as they garnered four more runs in the seventh for the 4-20 final.
