DENTON, TEXAS – The East Central University fell just short at No. 25 Texas Woman's, dropping a 0-1 decision in the final non-conference match of the 2016 regular season.

The Tigers (0-4-1) fought hard through the game, recording five shots on goal, with sophomore Summer Whalen leading the team with two.  Sophomore Chloe Hull recorded six saves.

The Pioneers got on the scoreboard quickly, scoring at 1:10 on a shot from the top of the box.

Both teams then turned up the defense, with ECU allowing just seven shots on goal for the entire match and just 12 total shots.  The Tigers recorded 13 total shots, with nine coming in the second half.
