Soccer Ends in Scoreless Tie with Newman

ADA – The East Central University soccer team fought through for a 0-0 double-overtime tie with Newman in non-conference action at Tiger Field.  The match was the third in six days for the Tigers (0-2-1) and the second of the year at home.

ECU has several chances to score in the match, with 17 total shots and eight finding the net.  The Jets (1-0-2) tallied 18 total shots, with Tiger netminder sophomore Chloe Hull stopping all seven that were on net.

ECU saw shots from a total of 10 different players, with eight earning a shot on net.  Senior Taylor Kennedy and sophomore Kendall Smith led the way with three shots, one on goal. 

The Tigers will now get ready for a four-match road trip, starting, Friday, September 9 at Northeastern State at 5 p.m.
