BETHANY, OKLA. - In a game where one team's winning streak was going to come to an end, the East Central University men's basketball team kept its alive, with an 89-72 win over Southern Nazarene in Great American Conference action. The win for the Tigers broke a six-home game winning streak for the Crimson Storm.

The Tigers (12-4, 8-2 GAC) were paced senior
Braxton Reeves with 29 points, two rebounds and four assists. Freshman
Camron Talley added 14 points, while senior
Ben Brown-White garnered 10 points and six boards.
The Crimson Storm (8-7, 5-4 GAC) got off to a quick start and built their lead out to as many as nine points in the opening seven minutes (14-23). However, ECU then mounted a come-back over the next 2:30 that tied the game at 25, with an 11-2 run.
The teams traded points until they were again knotted at 31, with 6:45 remaining. That is when the Tigers pushed gears again and used an 8-0 run to take the lead for the rest of the stanza. This time it gave them an eight-point advantage, which they kept the rest of the half and headed into the locker room leading 49-41.
Reeves got a layup in the first 30 seconds of the second half to put the Tigers up by 10. ECU never looked back and didn't let the advantage get under 10, and led by as many as 19 points on the way to an 89-72 win.
Three-point shots and free throws became the key to the victory, with the Tigers leading in both columns. ECU landed 11 triples and held SNU to just four, while going 20-of-25 from the charity stripe and allowing just a 6-of-12 mark by the opposition.
The Tigers will now start a three-game home stand, Saturday, Jan. 21 when they welcome Northwestern Oklahoma State to the Kerr Activities Center for a 3 p.m. game.
