The East Central University football team is hosting Northwestern Oklahoma State, Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. The game is the annual Pink Out! game, sponsored by Mercy Ada to promote breast cancer awareness.

The Broadcast: ECU's radio home for Tiger football is Ada's KXFC, 105.5, FM 'The X-Factor'. Mike Manos returns to broadcast the games for his 21st consecutive season. Manos has worked 215 Tiger games since taking over the play-by-play duties in 1997.
This year fans in the stadium will have a chance to rent or buy a Smart Bug. The Smart Bug will let you listen to The X-Factor radio broadcast from the stands, through the post-game show, and for a chance for exclusive content during broadcast breaks. Cost is $15 to purchase and use for the entire 2017-18 season at football and basketball, or $10 to rent with a $5 return when the unit is checked back in after the game.
The Series: The all-time series with NWOSU dates back to 1913. The Tigers lead 48-27-7 in the series, including a 20-9-1 mark when playing as conference opponents. ECU has also doubled the number of wins when playing in Ada (12-6).
Last Meeting: The Tigers fell to the Rangers, 42-26, in 2016 on the road.
The top offensive returner for ECU is
Trinity Benson, who recorded his first 100+ yard receiving game, nabbing 170 yards on 11 catches and a touchdown.
Dezmon Jackson added 67 yards and a TD on seven catches.
The Tigers saw two returning players pick up at least 10 tackles in the game.
Camnik Campbell tallied 12, while
Vernon Johnson added 10 and a blocked kick.
ECU ended up out-passing the Rangers, with 468 yards to 319, but the Tigers struggled on the ground recording -11 yards rushing to 143 by NWOSU.
The first half was a back and forth battle that resulted in the Rangers leading by two (28-26). The teams ended the first quarter tied at seven.
The second quarter is where the scoring really kicked off, with both teams scoring three touchdowns.
The second half saw the scoring slow down dramatically, with only NWOSU adding two more touchdowns to gain the 42-26 win.
Douglas Turns Up the Intensity: Freshman
Ontario Douglas had the game of his short career against Southwestern. Douglas finished the game with 280 all-purpose yards, 206 rushing and 74 receiving and all four of ECU's offensive touchdowns. The Lawton, Okla., native recorded 53 percent of his season numbers in the game, as he had just 328 all-purpose yards before the game.
Douglas now ranks No. 16 in the NCAA in rushing yards per carry (7.04), No. 11 in rushing TDs (7), No. 33 in rushing yards (507), No. 38 in points per game (8.4), No. 29 in total points scored (42) and No. 18 in total touchdowns (7).
Benson Bringing in Passes: Junior
Trinity Benson has been a bright spot for the Tigers, despite the losing record. Benson has recorded 381 receiving yards on 31 passes, with three TDs this season. His 76.2 reception yards per game average and 6.2 receptions per game rank him No. 2 in the GAC standings and No. 61 in yards and No. 31 in receptions in the NCAA.
Holle Named GAC Offensive Player of the Week: After his first game of the 2017 ECU football season, junior quarterback
Noah Holle was named the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 4.
Holle, went 20-of-27 in his debut in an orange and black uniform, throwing for 351 yards and five touchdowns. He used seven different receivers and connected for touchdowns with five of those receivers.
Holle also set up two more touchdowns on the rush, helping the Tigers to 546 total offensive yards, the most since Sept. 19, 2015.
Williams Starts Off Season on High Note: Senior
Devyn Williams gave the Tigers a great start to the 2017 season, by returning the opening kickoff of the first game of the season (Sept. 2) 91 yards for a touchdown. It was the first time since Sept. 14, 2013 that any kickoff during a game had been returned for a TD. The last time was when LaQuan Harper returned a kickoff, in the middle of the game, 94 yards for TD against Southern Arkansas.
Up Next: The Tigers will remain at home for a second-straight week, as they face Southern Arkansas, Saturday, Oct. 14 at Koi Ishto Stadium. The game is Oklahoma National Guard and Scout Day, with several events planned.
