Soccer Shutouts Ouachita
ARKADELPHIA, ARK. – The East Central University soccer team picked up a key 1-0 shutout win over Ouachita Baptist in Great American Conference road action. The win moved ECU into a tie for third in the GAC standings, after entering in fifth.

Chloe Hull earned her fourth shutout win of the season, with two saves.
ECU took control of the match throughout, recording seven shots on goal to just two by the other Tigers (3-7-1, 3-3 GAC).
Both teams kept each other off the scoreboard through the first half, with ECU recording two of their shots on goals and Ouachita one.
The Tigers then got on the scoreboard at 67:48 in the second half. Verner earned her goal after dribbling down the edge of the field and shot from 18 yards out to hit the opposite corner of the goal.
ECU will remain on the road for another week, facing Northwestern (Oct. 12/6 p.m.) and Southwestern (Oct. 14/11 a.m.) before hosting Oklahoma Baptist (Oct. 19/4 p.m.) at Tiger Field.
