Soccer Season Ends In GAC Semifinals

SHAWNEE, OKLA. – The East Central University soccer team saw its 2017 season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Oklahoma Baptist in the Great American Conference Championship Semifinals.

The Tigers (6-8-4, 3-4-4 GAC) saw the Bison (15-1-3, 9-0-3 GAC) take control of most of the match, with OBU recording 29 shots to ECU's three.

Junior Chloe Hull, a 2017 All-GAC Second Team selection, tallied eight saves, ending the year with 112 saves, five shut outs and a 1.13 goals against average.  Her totals rank her third on the ECU Career Lists in saves (253) and second in shutouts (9).

Sophomore Alexis Castillo, an All-GAC Second Team pick, led the Tigers with two shots (one on goal), while senior Deanna Rudasill tallied one shot on goal for the match.

OBU took the lead early in the match, earning their first goal 1:32 into the first half.  The teams ended the first stanza with the Bison leading 1-0.

OBU then added two goals in the second half five minutes apart on penalty kicks for the 3-0 win.
