The Tigers (19-7, 15-5 GAC) were led by senior
Ishmael Donzo, with 16 points. Fellow senior
KD Moore added 10 points and eight rebounds, while senior
Braxton Reeves netted 11 points.
ECU struggled right of the gate, falling behind 0-11 in the first six minutes. The Crimson Storm (15-10, 12-7 GAC) kept the pressure up through the whole first half and had the lead out to as many as 18 before taking a 16-32 lead into the intermission.
The Tigers opened the second half on a 6-2 run, but were never able to cut too far into the disadvantage. ECU kept the deficit between 11 and 15 points until the final two minutes of the game when SNU pushed the lead to as many as 20 points and claimed the 49-68 win.
For the first time in 2016-17 the Tiger were held without a three-point shot and shot just 34 percent (18-of-53) from the field. ECU only allowed a 36.5 (23-of-63) mark by the Crimson Storm, but SNU hit three triples.
The Tigers will look to rebound in the final two games of the regular-season, facing Arkansas Tech (Thursday, Feb. 13/5:30 p.m.) and Harding (Saturday, Feb. 25/3 p.m.) at home.
