DURANT, OKLA. – The East Central University softball team split the second day of the Southeastern Regional Invitational, moving to 3-1 on the season. The Tigers first picked up a 3-1 win over Emporia State and then fell 0-8 (5) to Pittsburg State.
ECU was led by redshirt sophomore
Aundrea Hamric, who hit .667 for the day with two runs and two hits. Junior
Alissa Taylor added a.400 average, with two hits.
Freshman
Karlie Milburn earned the win in the circle in the opening game of the day, throwing the final two innings, allowing two hits and one run. Freshman
Lindsay Wade started the game, allowing just one hit and striking out four.
The Tigers will wrap up the regional invitational, Sunday, Feb. 5 with games against St. Edward's (9:30 a.m.) and Missouri Southern State (2:30 p.m.).
East Central 3, Emporia State 1
ECU got on the scoreboard first, plating a run in the bottom of the third. After the first two outs, Hamric started things with a single up the middle and went sent home when freshman
Catherine Barrera doubled to left center.
The Hornets (0-3) tied things up in the top of the sixth, with a single run on two hits.
The Tigers didn't waste much time regaining the lead, earning two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Hamric started the inning with a single and was advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Barrera. Junior
Claresha Clemons then reached on an error that allowed Hamric to score.

Lindsae Walker was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Wade then earned the final RBI with a single to right field.
The ECU defense then sent the next three ESU batters back to the dugout for the 3-1 victory.
Pittsburg State 8, ECU 0 (5)
The Tigers struggled to get their bats going in the second game of the day, recording just two hits. The Gorillas (4-0) earned seven hits for the day.
PSU jumped out to an early 0-2 lead in the bottom of the first and then added three runs in both the second and third inning for the 0-8 advantage.
