Women’s Basketball Lands Three on All-GAC Teams

2016-17 Women's Basketball GAC Award Winners: Jalyn Jackson, Whitney Stotler and Devon Branch.
ADA – The East Central University women's basketball team kicked off the 2016-17 Great American Conference Championship Tournament by seeing three student-athletes named to the 2016-17 All-GAC teams.

Junior Devon Branch was an All-GAC Second Team selection, while seniors Jalyn Jackson and Whitney Stotler were both named to the All-GAC Honorable Mention Team.

The Tigers, who finished No. 5 in the GAC standings, will face No. 4 Southeastern, Friday, March 3 at noon in the opening round.  A win would pit ECU against the winner of No. 1 Harding and No. 8 Arkansas-Monticello, March 4 at noon.

Branch leads the Tigers and is ranked No. 5 in the GAC in scoring, with 14.4 points per game.  She is also ranked No. 1 in the league in three point field goals made (2.9), No. 4 in free throw percentage (.851), No. 6 in minutes (32.7) and NO. 9 in three point field goal percentage (.371).

Jackson currently has 775 career rebounds, just two from the ECU career record, while ranking NO. 10 in the lead in rebounds per game (7.1) and No. 2in offensive rebounds (2.8).  She is also ranked No. 3 in field goal percentage (.559) and No. 5 in blocks (1.5).

Stotler is second on the team with 11.3 points per game, while ranking No. 5 in the league with a .502 field goal percentage.
