ADA – On a day designed to honor the four East Central University softball team seniors, the Tigers split the double-header with Southern Nazarene at Tiger Field. ECU claimed game one 2-0 before falling 3-5 in the night cap.

The Tigers (26-23, 17-20 GAC) saw four players hit over .400 for the day, with junior
Alissa Taylor and sophomore
Madison Thompson each hitting .500. Taylor tallied three hits, a run and an RBI, while Thompson added a hit and two RBIs.
Senior
Kelbie Crelia picked up the shutout win in the opener, allowing five hits and striking out two.
ECU honored its four seniors (Crelia,
Carlee Henderson,
Haley Hyatt and
Erin Sanders) before the game and also honored head coach
Destini Anderson with the game ball from her 300
th career victory (April 14, 2017).
The Tigers and the Crimson Storm (20-30, 16-22 GAC) will wrap up the four-game Great American Conference series, Monday, April 24 starting at 2 p.m. at Tiger Field.
ECU 2, SNU 0
Both team's defense were the key for the first six innings, with the game remaining scoreless until the bottom of the inning.
ECU was finally able to get on the scoreboard when junior
Claresha Clemons started the inning with a solo home run. Sophomore
Ellanee Allison added a single and freshman
Lindsae Walker walked to allow freshman
Nikki Herrin to earn an RBI with a single.
SNU got its first two batters on base in the top of the seventh, but the Tigers then got the next three batters out to claim the 2-0 win.
SNU 5, ECU 3
Taylor seemed to get things going in the second game of the day, hitting a solo home run as the first batter for ECU in the top of the first.
However, the Crimson Storm then rallied to score five runs in the second to gain the 1-5 lead.
The Tigers made a push in the fourth inning, but were only able to cut the deficit to 3-5. Sophomore

Breecia Crawford reached due to an error and redshirt sophomore
Aundrea Hamric singled to load the bases.
After a fielder's choice got a base runner out at home with the next batter, Thompson earned her two RBIs with a single to short.
However, that was all the scoring for the game and SNU took the game 3-5.
