Women’s Basketball Falls to Central Oklahoma

TAHLEQUAH, OKLA. – In the final game of the Great American Conference/Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Crossover, the East Central University women's basketball team dropped a 59-55 decision to Central Oklahoma.

Scoring
  • First Quarter: 15-9
    • Team traded shots for the first 5:30 minutes
    • The Tigers (1-1) went on a 10-0 run for a 15-7 advantage
  • Second Quarter: 15-11
    • The Bronchos (2-0) continued a 5-0 run from the first quarter through the first two minutes of the second to cut the deficit to two (15-13)
    • ECU pushed the lead back to seven (20-13) over the next three minutes
    • In the final two minutes of the stanza, the Tigers used an 8-4 run to lead 30-20 at the half
  • Third Quarter: 6-19
    • UCO used a 14-4 run in the first eight minutes of the quarter to tie the game at 34
    • The Bronchos continued the push for a four-point advantage at the end of the quarter (40-36)
  • Fourth Quarter: 19-19
    • UCO lead by as many as nine in the final stanza, but ECU would close the gap to four again until the final two minutes
    • The Tigers cut the deficit to two (57-55), with an 8-2 run, with 19 seconds remaining
    • The Bronchos made two free throws in the final seconds for the 59-55 win
