Men’s Basketball Picks Up Second 100-Point Victory

ADA – For the second-straight home game and the first Great American Conference battle of the 2018-19 season, the East Central University scored over 100 points, defeating Southwestern Oklahoma State, 101-74 at the Kerr Activities Center.

  • First Half: 48-44
    • The Tigers (3-2, 1-0 GAC) jumped out to a 9-0 advantage in the first three minutes
    • The Bulldogs (0-4, 0-1 GAC) followed with a 15-3 run over the next four minutes to take a 15-12 lead
    • SWOSU held on to the lead (as many as four) through the first 9:30 minutes to lead 21-17
    • ECU followed with a 6-1 run over the next minutes to lead (23-22)
    • The teams battled through the next three minutes, toggling the lead back-and-forth
    • Tied at 31 (5:31 left)
    • The Tigers then went on a 7-0 run until four minutes were left (38-37)
    • ECU continued the run to 13-2 for a nine-point advantage (2:20 left), 42-33

    • The Tigers then took control and pushed the lead out to 20 (82-62), with 6:05 left
    • SWOSU kept the disadvantage around 20 until the final 3:30
      • ECU pushed the lead out to 29 (101-72)
