Men’s Basketball Wins Overtime Thriller against Northwestern

ADA – The East Central University men's basketball team picked up its fifth-straight home victory, with a 75-72 overtime victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State at the Kerr Activities Center.

Scoring
  • First Half: 38-39
    • ECU opened the game on a 9-0 run in the first two minutes
    • The Tigers led by as many as 14 points (24-10), after the first seven minutes
    • The Rangers then pushed back and tied the game at 28 and 30 (3:26)
    • NWOSU then used a 9-8 run to take the lead at the half
  • Second Half: 26-25 (64-64)
    • The Rangers pushed their lead out to eight (47-39) in the first four minutes
    • ECU pushed back to tie the game at 47
    • No team lead by more than four points the rest of the stanza
  • Overtime: 11-8
    • The Tigers scored the first five points of overtime (69-64)
    • NWOSU fought back to tie the game at 71, with 53 seconds left
    • ECU then hit two free throws for the lead
    • The Rangers had a chance to tie, but missed a free throw (15 seconds)
    • The Tigers scored the final two points at the free throw line and got a key stop in the final 13 seconds to earn the win.
