Men’s Basketball Struggles in Second Half at Oklahoma Baptist

SHAWNEE, OKLA. – While the East Central University men's basketball team trailed by just one at the half, the Tigers let an early second-half run give the 76-66 victory to Oklahoma Baptist.

Scoring
  • First Half: 35-36
    • The teams traded runs through the first five minutes
      • Resulted in four ties (2, 4, 6, 8)
    • The Bison (3-4, 2-1 GAC) then started a 7-0 run over the next two minutes
    • The Tigers (3-4, 1-2 GAC) cut the deficit to three, 15-12
    • OKBU followed with a 6-2 run to end the first 10 minutes of the half
    • ECU fought back to tie the game a 23, with 7:20 remaining
    • Traded shots and runs through the rest of the half
  • Second Half: 31-38
    • The Bison started the half on a 7-0 run
      • Run continued to 17-2 in the first six minutes (39-53)
    • The lead stayed around 10 most of the stanza
    • Just under three-minutes left, the Tigers started a late run
      • Cut the deficit to six (62-68)
    • OKBU held on to the leady by making free throws
      • Scored eight points in the final three minutes at the line
      • Went 6-of-8
