Baseball Opens Series at Ouachita

ARKADELPHIA, ARK. – The East Central University baseball team opened the Great American Conference series at Ouachita Baptist, falling 16-2 in seven innings.

The Tigers (1-20, 0-13 GAC) recorded seven hits in the game, with senior Bryce Dimitroff earning two.  Sophomore Dakota Washington and junior Yan-Eric Tremblay both earned an RBI.

ECU started the scoring, netting their two runs in the top of the first inning.  Sophomore Cale Ridling started the game with a double down the left field line and was sent home when Tremblay singled.  Dimitroff and senior Trevor Crone each singled to load the baes, allowing Washington to earn the RBI when he grounded out to third.

However, Ouachita (9-16, 5-8 GAC) tied the game up in the bottom of the inning and then added five runs in the third and fourth and four in the sixth for the 16-2 final.

The teams will wrap up the series, Saturday, March 17 with a double-header slated to start at noon at Rab Rodgers Field.
