Women’s Basketball Winning Streak Snapped by Southern Nazarene

ADA, OKLA. – The East Central University women's basketball teams nine-game winning streak came to an end with a 63-60 loss to Southern Nazarene at the Kerr Activities Center.

Scoring
  • First Quarter: 19-11
    • The Tigers (12-4, 7-3 GAC) started the game with a 4-0 run
    • ECU never let the Crimson Storm (7-9, 6-4 GAC) get a lead in the quarter
    • Lead kept around two baskets until SNU used a 4-0 run to tie the game at 11 (2:33)
    • The Tigers responded with an 8-0 run in the final 2:30
  • Second Quarter: 17-11 (36-22)
    • The Crimson Storm cut the deficit back to four (19-15) in the first 1:30 minutes
    • ECU then went on an 11-2 run over the next four minutes to push the advantage to 18 (35-17), with four minutes left in the quarter
    • SNU finished the remaining time with a 5-1 run
  • Third Quarter: 9-17 (45-39)
    • The teams traded runs in the first 3:30 minutes
      • Left the Tigers holding a 41-26 (+15) lead
    • The Crimson Storm then took over and went on a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to five (41-36), with 3:25 left in the stanza
    • The teams traded points in the remaining time
  • Fourth Quarter: 15-24
    • SNU kept up the pressure to get within two (45-43) in the first two minutes
    • The ECU lead was held between 2-5 for the next two minutes (52-47)
    • The Crimson Storm made another push and tied the game at 54 and took a 54-55 lead for their first advantage in the game, with four minutes left
    • Next 2:30 the teams battled and were knotted at 58, with a minute left
    • SNU hit a triple, with 33 second left, to take the final lead of the game (61-58)
    • Both teams then scored just free throws over the next 30 seconds for the 63-60 final
