Men’s Basketball Ends Season in the GAC Tournament Quarterfinals

BARTLESVILLE, OKLA. – The East Central University men's basketball team got down early and were able to fight back within two points, but ended up falling to Oklahoma Baptist 73-66 in the Great American Conference Championship Tournament quarterfinals.

Scoring
  • First Half: 28-37
    • The Bison (16-13, 14-8 GAC) started the game on an 8-0 run
      • The Tigers (16-12, 13-9 GAC) first scored at 17:53
    • The scoring then slowed down with only five more points being tallied by both teams combined in the next four minutes of play
    • OBU pushed the lead to 11 (15-4), with 13:34 left on the clock
    • ECU cut the disadvantage to six (17-11), with 10:30 left

    • The Bison then started a 6-1 run over the next two minutes to build the lead back to seven
    • The Tigers again cut the disadvantage to two (60-62), with four minutes left
      • OBU pushed it back to seven in the next minute
    • The Bison kept up the pressure and led by as many as 11 points in the remaining three minutes
