Soccer Set to Face Texas A&M-Commerce for 2019 Homecoming
ADA, Okla. – The East Central University soccer team returns home after a four-match home stand to face their last non-conference opponent of the 2019 regular season. The Tigers (2-3) will face Texas A&M-Commerce, Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. at Tiger Field.
The game is part of the 2019 Homecoming festivities and will also include a dedication to Dr. Stan Nnochirionye. Dr. Stan, who passed away in January, was integral in starting the ECU soccer program and other soccer programs in the Ada community.
A tree has been planted, with a marker, to honor what Dr. Stan brought to the ECU and Ada communities. A ceremony to dedicate the tree will take place at the end of the Tigers' match against TAMCU, approximately 3:30 p.m.
There will also be a special tribute soccer match to follow between ECU soccer alumni. For more information about the tribute match or donating to a scholarship fund contact Pat Fountain at 580 320 5511 or patushana@gmail.com or Andrei Ghenciu at andrei.e.ghenciu@gmail.com.
