Women’s Basketball Starts 2020 at Harding

SEARCY, Ark. – The East Central University women's basketball team started the 2020 portion of the season with a 76-58 loss at Harding in Great American Conference action.

Scoring
  • 1st Quarter: 16-25
    • The teams traded the first two shots in the opening minute
    • The Tigers (3-8, 1-4 GAC) then went on an 8-4 run to garner a 10-6 advantage two minutes later
    • The Bisons (6-5, 3-2 GAC) countered with a 9-0 run to gain their own 13-10 lead, with 5 minutes left
    • Harding continued to push the tempo and increased the lead to as many as 9 through the stanza
  • 2nd Quarter: 12-20 (28-45)
    • ECU started the stanza with a 5-0 run in the opening 3 minutes to cut the deficit to 5 (21-25)
    • The Bisons regained the momentum and went on a 7-0 run to lead by 11 (32-21), with 5:30 remaining
    • Harding continued the pressure through quarter and increased the lead to as many a 17
  • 3rd Quarter: 16-16 (44-61)
    • The teams had an even battle throughout the stanza
      • The Bisons lead was kept between 12-19
  • 4th Quarter: 14-15
    • The final stanza was an even fight, with no team changing the lead by more than one possession
