Women’s Basketball Comes Back to Win at Northwestern

ALVA, Okla. – The East Central University women's basketball team claimed their seventh-straight victory, with a 58-53 Great American Conference road victory at the Percefull Fieldhouse.

Scoring
  • 1st Quarter: 9-15
    • No scoring in the first two minutes
    • The Tigers (7-1, 7-1 GAC) scored the first three points before the Rangers (4-6, 2-6 GAC) went on an 8-0 run to take control of the scoreboard
    • The teams then traded shots through the rest of the stanza
  • 2nd Quarter: 13-9 (22-24)
    • NWOSU scored the first three points of the quarter in the first 30 seconds
    • ECU then fought back with a 7-2 run, over the next 3:30 minutes, to cut the deficit to four
    • Both teams then went cold for the next 2:30 minutes
    • The teams traded shots until the first two minutes
    • The Tigers finished the half with a 4-0 run to get within two
  • 3rd Quarter: 21-18 (43-42)

    • The Rangers then went on a 5-0 run to push the lead back to five
    • In the final two minutes the Tigers went on a 9-2 run to take the lead

    • NWOSU scored the first two points of the stanza at the free-throw line, 1:30 in
    • The Tigers then increased their advantage with a 10-2 run, over the next four minutes (53-46)
    • The Rangers fought back to get within one (54-53) in the final minute, on a 5-0 run
    • ECU took advantage of shots at the charity stripe to keep the lead in their favor
