RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- After a nine-match winning streak, the East Central University volleyball team battled with Arkansas Tech for sole possession of first place in the Great American Conference standings, with ATU earning a 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-17) victory.
Scoring
	- Set 1: 25-21
	
		- The Tigers (12-10, 8-2 GAC) jumped out to a 5-1 advantage
- The Golden Suns (15-4, 9-1 GAC) fought back to tie the set at seven, with a 6-1 2 run
- ECU then went on the final run needed
		
		
- The set was close the rest of the way
- ATU used a late 4-0 run to get within two (21-19), but could not get any closer
 
- Set 2: 21-25
	
		- The Golden Suns came out strong in the second set and claimed an 8-2 advantage
- The Tigers kept up the pressure, but could not get closer than four the rest of the set
- ATU had set point at 24-17, but ECU kept fighting and held off match point for five serves
 
- Set 3: 20-25
	
		- The teams traded points and small runs through the first 12 points
- The Golden Suns then took control with a 7-1 run
- The Tigers kept battling and got within three, but could not get any closer the rest of the set
 
- Set 4: 17-25
	
		- ATU again gained an early advantage, this time 5-0
- ECU kept pushing the tempo and tied the set at eight
- The Golden Suns then used a 5-0 run to regain the lead for good
